Meet them before the winner is announced.

MP already posts driver reactions, playful clips and academy coverage. Its six-candidate talent selection offers something more: people with a chance at a racing seat, and a reason to care before the result arrives.

The opportunity

One seat is the outcome. The people are the story.

The academy introduction shows the candidates and the setting. A continuing series could show what each person is trying to prove, how they respond and what happens next. Viewers need no F4 knowledge to understand an opportunity that matters.

A few ways in. A plan that keeps evolving.

A few examples of a wider content plan. The people, skills, relationships and life around the team give us different ways to connect with established fans and newcomers.

1Before the selection

What would change if you got the seat?

Start with a candidate’s specific answer, then show the real object or routine behind it: the journey to the test, the preparation or the person they called first. Introduce their name and the opportunity immediately.

What keeps people watching

The stakes become personal without requiring a tragic backstory. A viewer can choose someone to follow before knowing who is quickest.

2During the test

What did you notice that I missed?

After a permitted run, let a candidate ask the coach one question they genuinely need answered. Pair the answer with approved footage of the moment, then keep the driver’s response.

What keeps people watching

A concrete question makes the expertise visible. The candidate gets to think and react on camera instead of delivering another polished summary.

3After the announcement

The result is out. What happens on Monday?

With willing participants, follow the first practical next step for the winner and a candidate who was not selected. A training session, another test or a new plan gives the story somewhere honest to go.

What keeps people watching

The audience’s connection need not disappear when the announcement ends. How someone responds can be more memorable than their finishing position.

From idea to recording

How we’d make it.

Capture the real situation, shape the edit and deliver the promised payoff.

  1. 1

What would change if you got the seat?

Film short conversations before the event. Use only experiences the candidate chooses to share. No invented financial hardship, scripted tears or pressure to reveal family circumstances; obtain guardian consent where needed.

  2. 2

What did you notice that I missed?

Agree a short debrief window with sporting staff. Show one understandable observation, not confidential comparisons between candidates. Film a later attempt only if the schedule and access allow it.

  3. 3

The result is out. What happens on Monday?

Ask again after the decision; participation must be optional. Never make a rejected candidate perform disappointment. Keep sporting selection separate from popularity and let each person explain their own next step.

Give people a reason to return

Turn a good moment into a following.

Earn the first watch

MP’s short visual jokes can introduce the account to strangers. Give those visitors an easy route to a named driver and a continuing story, rather than expecting every funny clip to build loyalty by itself.

Build the next connection

Carry the selected driver’s story into the season. Keep candidate updates, race-day reactions, humor and polished films in the mix; the selection series is one part of a wider plan.

Made for the feed

How we’d adapt the videos.

Instagram Reels

Make each candidate recognisable by name and face. Use Stories for audience questions between episodes, then answer the strongest question with the driver.

TikTok

Open on the immediate problem: a candidate sees the session ahead or reacts to their first run. Explain the opportunity in one sentence; keep the actual conversation.

YouTube Shorts

Give each episode its own setup and result. Use a related-video link to the fuller selection story when available, with clear titles naming the driver and MP Motorsport.

Test, learn, improve

What we’d look for.

What we’d test first

At the next suitable selection event, follow two willing candidates from one specific concern to the debrief. Test whether viewers remember their names and return for the outcome before commissioning a longer series.

Compare returning viewers, profile visits and substantive questions across the candidate episodes. Track programme enquiries separately. A popular joke or a large view count does not establish interest in joining the team.
